Westney Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging, University of Texas, Houston, TX, United States, Urology, Albany Medical College, Albany, NY, United States, Urology, University of Texas, Houston, TX, United States Introduction Lower urinary tract symptoms and erectile dysfunction may relate to pelvic ischemia. Can pelvic ischemia be demonstrated by a series MRI method such as MR angiography, cardiac stroke value, and specifically dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI perfusion? The goal of this primary study was to establish a set of protocols for MRI pelvic perfusion study at 3T, including its feasibility. These protocols were applied to the pelvis of male patients with known coronary artery disease (CAD) and those without (controls) and correlated with pelvic symptoms (erectile dysfunction and lower urinary tract symptoms). The hypothesis asserted that perfusion values for these two groups of patients would be different.

Quantification of blood-brain-barrier permeability dysregulation and inflammatory activity in MS lesions by dynamic-contrast enhanced MR imaging
Objective: Measurement of blood-brain permeability dysfunction in active and chronic MS lesions with T1-weighted dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI to show variation in inflammatory activity Background: blood-brain-barrier perfusion characterization impaired in MS as some studies have shown recently buta comparison between perfusion parameters in contrast-enhanced and non-enhanced lesions not have ...
متن کاملبررسی ارزش تشخیصی MRI در مقایسه با اکوکاردیوگرافی ترانس توراسیک در تعیین خصوصیات توده های قلبی
Background: Cardiac tumors are usually asymptomatic diseases. Considering the anatomic position of the heart, it is necessary to identify their nature before every aggressive intervention. The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic performance of MRI and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) assessment of cardiac masses. Methods: In a cross-sectional survey from April 2010 to March 2013...
متن کاملAn Efficient Framework for Accurate Arterial Input Selection in DSC-MRI of Glioma Brain Tumors
Introduction: Automatic arterial input function (AIF) selection has an essential role in quantification of cerebral perfusion parameters. The purpose of this study is to develop an optimal automatic method for AIF determination in dynamic susceptibility contrast magnetic resonance imaging (DSC-MRI) of glioma brain tumors by using a new preprocessing method.Material and Methods: For this study, ...
متن کاملEvaluation of the relationship between hepatic and cardiac iron overload with MRI T2* and carotid intima media thickness with Doppler ultrasound in beta thalassemia major patients
Background: Iron overload is caused early progression of atherosclerosis in beta thalassemia patients due to regular repeated blood transfusion. MRI T2* is a gold standard non-invasive method for detecting hepatic and cardiac iron overload. The aim of this study was the comparison of carotid intima media thickness (CIMT) in the patients and healthy control groups with Doppler ultrasound for ear...
متن کاملDiagnostic performance of 3T stress magnetic resonance myocardial perfusion imaging (MRMPI) using 32-channel cardiac coil in patients with coronary artery disease
Background/aim With newly available 32-channel cardiac coil, 3 tesla MRI system provides increased signal-to-noise radio (SNR), reduced imaging time and improved spatial resolution. This study sought to determine the diagnostic performance of 3T stress MRMPI with 32-channel cardiac coil in detecting clinical relevant coronary artery stenosis in comparison with invasive coronary angiography (ICA).
